DOES YOUR ORGANISATION NEED SOME ASSISTANCE?
I am passionate about the benefits that organisations contribute to society and have experience in community development and renewal, with postgraduate qualifications in the field. I specialise in working with incorporated associations and groups, bringing a high-level understanding of organisational matters including development, structure, management, financial sustainability, governance, and strategic planning. I can provide advice to boards and committees to support effective governance and long-term outcomes.
I have had significant involvement with the Mary Valley community at both community and government levels, including advocacy social and economic impact issues, and community renewal. I have presented papers at conferences on these topics and was privileged to work with community revitalisation specialist Peter Kenyon following the Federal Government’s Traveston Crossing Dam decision, supporting the community renewal process that ensued.
My understanding of both community and government enables me to provide informed, practical support and a positive commitment to the communities and organisations I work with.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS ON YOUR LIST?
Community Development & Renewal are areas in which I have specialised in for many years and also have post graduate qualifications in.
My passion is assisting community organisations and Government to develop and deliver their goals – for example – community engagement, community planning, capacity development or community renewal and place making.
I had significant involvement with the Mary Valley Community (Queensland, Australia) at a community and government level covering advocacy for human rights, social and economic impact issues and community renewal and have presented papers at various conferences on associated topics. I invited Peter Kenyon, community revitalisation specialist, to work with the Mary Valley community (post the Traveston Crossing Dam overturning by the Federal Government) and was privileged to work with him on the Community Renewal that ensued.
My understanding of both community and Government allows me to provide a positive commitment to any community I work with.
DO YOU NEED HELP WITH DEVELOPING – REFINING – OR DELIVERING AN EVENT?
I work with you to clearly identify your goals and what you want your event to achieve — from concept development through to delivery, acquittal, and outcome reporting where required.
Services include event planning and coordination, risk management, marketing, media releases, promotional materials (including graphics), and on-the-ground delivery. I can also provide targeted media and marketing support to maximise reach and engagement.
My background as an Event Manager and Conference Centre Manager includes delivering events of all sizes, from small functions and fundraisers to forums, conferences, and festivals.
Clients include government, corporate, community, and small business organisations.
CAN I HELP YOU WITH AN ARTS PROJECT OR ADVOCATE ON YOUR BEHALF?
My background in arts and culture spans community practice and government, enabling me to work confidently across the sector and communicate effectively at all levels.
I develop project concepts, work with arts workers, liaise with government, and bring together key stakeholders to progress projects from idea to delivery.
My experience includes eight years as Chair of a Regional Arts Development Fund, membership of the Queensland Local Government Arts and Cultural Reference Group, and current involvement with Mary Valley Artslink. Through this role, I have supported the development of a new arts and cultural centre and the Art on Yabba Fine Art Gallery, writing funding grants and working closely with the project manager.
My understanding of government processes is a strong asset in supporting organisations and projects to succeed.
